@home NEW ZEALAND COROMANDEL PENINSULA
Each of our member’s guest and hosted accommodation properties are assessed and approved for their quality standards every two years and you can be assured of generous hospitality when staying at any of those listed below.
The Coromandel Peninsula is one of the most scenic areas of our country with native forest areas including examples of the kauri tree that once covered this peninsula, abundant native bird life, dramatic shorelines and a beach with natural hot springs as well as many unusual scenic attractions that are unique to this area. This area is of historical significance in that it is reputed to be the only part of New Zealand visited by both Kupe and Captain Cook. Many of the towns have their origins in the gold rush days of the nineteenth century and others were timber towns and ports where the mighty kauri logs were shipped out to world wide destinations. Don’t expect high speed freeways, large hotels and casinos but instead experience our one lane bridges, narrow roads and exotic scenic sights that will leave you breathless.
We suggest you allow several days to enjoy all this peninsula has to offer and be prepared to leave relaxed and refreshed after experiencing the laid back style and meeting the conservation minded people who live in and enjoy “The Coromandel”.
